will everything still be under 2020 exam as it was before?  I see an opportunity to attach a file, so will try that just to see what happens.  Attaching a photo and a pdf – not sure if it will go through or not.

What are topic tags?

Still not sure on the profile picture – I don’t see anything on the right that seems to be what you were referring to.  I believe you can, just not sure how.

I do see the ability to bold … but no color?  Just bold and italics?  No font change otherwise?

if it’s not improving, should we keep trying to change from the prior Forum or is there a better product?  I got a lot of complaints from students last cycle

The old forum software (Xenforo) is actually more robust in many ways and designed for larger user groups (thousands).  The problem is with the integration with the DAP system.  The new version of DAP doesn’t even support Xenforo.

There are other forums out there like BuddyPress but that is geared more for a social network forum with more ability for forum users to interact with each other.

Topic tags are used for searching.  Can put evidence for example and then search all topics with that tag.

What were the main complaints with old forum.

And yes we can have just one forum 2020 Exam Cycle.  Then all topics under that, don’t think there is a limit on number of topics.

students hated the clunky-ness, the way that this one will also sort info apparently – that it wasn’t very intuitive, etc.  I kept being asked for a better product and I just said it was intended for the exam cycle only – wasn’t a forever platform.

Would BuddyPress work?  Can you attach files?  This is about them interacting so I’m not sure that description is a bad thing.

I can use FB as one group but I’ve hated to only use that since some people don’t use FB and won’t use social media and I was trying to avoid having 2 separate platforms for communcation.

I do post files from time to time and I use this to communicate with students, so I liked having the ability to use color/bold etc to make points.
